Valcucine History

    Milestone 1

    1980 – 1989

    Valcucine’s first decade gave rise to the production of kitchens with a high potential for customization. Innovative production processes determined our success. The Iconic Artematica luxury kitchen was born at the end of this decade, setting the benchmark for the rest of the industry.

    1990 – 1999

    This decade saw the development of new products, in line with ergonomic and environmental protection requirements, such as Ricicla. (now referred to as Riciclantica)

    Valcucine founded the Bioforest association in 1998.

  • 2000 – 2010

    2000 – 2010

    The new millennium marked the company’s global expansion, new ideas for more ergonomic products, new partnerships and international acknowledgements.

    At the end of this decade, Valcucine launched Invitrum, the first 100% recyclable base unit in glass and aluminum.

    Novel ergonomic approaches and new opportunities for customisation lead to collaboration among the best Italian handicraft experts. The Genius Loci and Sine Tempore kitchens are introduced. The Forma Mentis kitchen is the latest addition to the collection.

The Valcucine Cape Town team is situated on Strand Street in De Waterkant. Our combined experience in kitchen design spans over decades, as well as many design and business disciplines.

MATHILDA VENTER

MANAGING DIRECTOR OF VALCUCINE CAPE TOWN

With a Degree in Design from Stellenbosch University and with over 20 years of combined international and local experience in kitchen design, Valcucine Cape Town’s managing director Mathilda Venter makes sure that the day-to-day running of the Cape Town office is seamless from daily operations to working closely with clients, architects and the design fraternity. What excites Mathilda most about working with the brand is that every aspect of the design, from the ergonomics to the tactility of the materials to the finest of details, has the wellbeing of the end user in mind.

SONJA DE WET

DESIGNER AT VALCUCINE CAPE TOWN

With a diploma in Interior Design from Potchefstroom Academy, Sonja De Wet is responsible for turning dream kitchens into a reality for Valcucine clients. She’s a top all-rounder, bringing clients’ visions to life, combined with impeccable client service. One of her favourite elements of the brand is its approach to sustainability, which filters through to every aspect of their design ethos.

TIFFANY ONDERSTALL

DESIGNER AT VALCUCINE CAPE TOWN

With a Bachelor in Interior Design from Inscape Education Group in Cape Town and a background in Fine Art, Tiffany Onderstall brings a new dimension to the team. One of her favourite aspects of the Brand, is Valcucine’s focus on ergonomics as well as their focus on the individual user and their preference for non-toxic materials.

DESIGNER AT VACUCINE CAPE TOWN

The most recent addition to the Valcucine Cape Town team, is Jeanne Joubert, who obtained a BTech Degree in Interior Design at Nelson Mandela University, Port Elizabeth. What fascinates her most about Valcucine, is their ongoing research and experiments to keep the coherent creations up-to-date without compromising the very aspects they’re rooted to – timelessness, well-being and innovation.

INSTALLATIONS MANAGER VALCUCINE CAPE TOWN

Paul Von Stein has been working in the kitchen industry for over 20-years and is well-versed in the intricacies of installing imported kitchens in the local South African market. Aside from honing his craft in Italy, what makes Paul one of the best in his field is his unwavering attention to detail and precision. Paul most admires Valcucine’s fusion of craftsmanship and technology.
