HOUSE BEAN
Situated on the slopes of Lion’s Head and Signal Hill lies a beautiful home that encapsulates the best of Cape Town vistas. Table Mountain is celebrated in its entirety with panoramic views through the full wall windows.
This home is humble in its design focus, with eclectic decor items collected from family members throughout the years. Situated perfectly at the center of a variety of entertainment spaces, the kitchen becomes a gathering place for family and friends. It overlooks an internal courtyard that is adorned in leopard trees allowing the sunlight to dapple through small, thin leaflets onto the outdoor dining area and into the kitchen.
The program chosen was the Forma Mentis which is versatile and adaptable to the homeowners lifestyle, while still being highly functional. The shape of the Forma Mentis doors are constructed with U-shaped grips making it easy to grasp and open forgoing the need for handles. This results in a minimalistic design with clean-cut lines and practical serviceability.
The new Logica System is light to the touch and opens silently using a weighted system reliant on gravity. Once open, the doors reveal an array of accessories housed on the Logica System back panel. The Neolith Nero Zimbabwe worktop features the Logica Theca, which is the result of extensive research into ergonomic design. The Logica Theca is perfectly integrated into the island, offering functionality and access to small utensils, containers and electric sockets.
