For the owner of this modern home in one of Cape Town’s most sought after estates, having an efficient and hands-on kitchen was a top priority.
Well thought-out and practical kitchens are what the Valcucine brand is renowned for. It was an obvious choice for this designer home whose owner wanted the kitchen to be an extension of the open-plan living area.
Incorporating the Riciclantica, Forma Mentis and New Logica System, the kitchen is sleek in its aesthetics and highly functional with everything the user could want, close at hand.
As a continuation of the living space and reflecting the neutral colour palette of the home, glass countertops were incorporated, as were burnished steel base units. Small appliances are concealed within the elegant New Logica System, which lights up as the unit is opened, making the appliances not just theatrical as if they were on a stage, but visible and easily accessible too.
A clever design solution by the Valcucine team, in order to amplify the illusion of space, was to place the breakfast table atop a glass leg creating the illusion that it is floating.
