Enjoying a 360 degree view of the ocean and mountains from her home in the Knysna, sustainability was high on the agenda for this homeowner when designing her dream kitchen.
The client wanted a kitchen that reflected a modern minimalist feel, in keeping with the industrial style of the property. Furthermore, sustainability was also high on the agenda of the homeowner.
A kitchen design project needs to be adaptable. The products recommended need to adapt to the requirements of the homeowner. While at the same time, ensuring that the end result is that of a functional and ergonomically designed kitchen.
Each of Valcucine’s kitchen collections offer freedom of planning thanks to the variety of units available. To meet this brief, we brought together the Forma Mentis Back Run with the Riciclantica Island. Not only could these units be combined to meet the functionality wanted by the client. Morever we could also customise the style thanks to a wide range of materials, finishes and handicraft works.
The new PVC-free materials of the Forma Mentis, which can be disposed of without producing dioxin emissions combined with the eco-tech Riciclantica met the sustainability request of the client.
Valcucine’s Riciclantica collection has focused on the reduction of materials used. This ethos has resulted in extreme door dematerialisation. The collection offers the lightest door in the world that fits into an aluminium structure that is water-, steam- and heat-resistant.
Due to this remarkable reduction of materials used, combined with the eco-tech finishes, this kitchen is sustainable, recyclable and innovative. Undoubtedly designed for those who pay a great deal of attention to their well-being and to live in harmony with nature.
The homeowner opted for the touch steel Riciclantica Island to match the rusted metal look and feel of the rest of the kitchen design and house. A black, back run was incorporated to ensure a continuous line and to heighten the minimalistic appeal. Another feature of the kitchen is the tempered glass worktops in black.
Valcucine’s glass is tempered and tested and comes with a 10-year guarantee.
