HOUSE PILLAY
Set on the base of Table Mountain, this Newlands apartment used natural earthy finishes throughout to effortlessly blend in with its surroundings. This leafy suburb is the perfect place to pair with a Valcucine kitchen, more specifically the Riciclantica.
Riciclantica stands for “lightness and resilience”: the lightest door in the world fits into an aluminium structure that is water-, steam- and heat-resistant. This makes it possible to plan kitchen layouts with wall-hung units, allowing for the utmost freedom of arrangement and movement and creating a durable and cutting-edge design. We used Touch Steel and Turtledove Grey Glass for the light, earthy feel.
We included a New Logica Unit – the light touch of one’s hand will automatically and noiselessly open the whole door thanks to a brilliant mechanism based on the force of gravity. More silent than a floating feather: the upper lift-up door and the lower sliding door open and shut gently to reveal all the accessories of the back panel. This patented element can be selectively equipped to meet the user’s requirements. The space and the light from the back panel allow for a feeling of lightness, order and formal cleanliness of the carcass.
For the wardrobe, we used the Storage system from Porro. All elements were done in Hemlock Cenere melamine for a masculin yet sophisticated finish. The tower unit is lockable with the door front in Matt Avorio lacquer.
