Finding the right colours for your home can seem tricky, but it doesn’t have to be a lifetime commitment. If you are looking to renovate or build your home and are in search of the upcoming trends in terms of colours and textures, take a look at our forecast for 2022.
Trends for 2022
Colour Trends
For the last two years, many of us have been spending an increasing amount of time at home. This has led us to reconnect with nature and fall in love with our gardens and natural space. Due to this, we are noticing that many designs call for natural elements and colours to be woven through the modern home with textural, finishes and architectural choices. As we reflect on this, we can anticipate olives, sage and pale greens as well as terracotta hues and stone blue to be featured in more homes in 2022.
Implementation
Bring these colour accents into your home through your choice of worktop and door finishes in the kitchen or wallpaper and paint choice in the rooms that you are creating. If you are redecorating and don’t want to make a long term commitment to a certain colour, it can be as easy as keeping a neutral colour pallet and opting for soft furnishings that are in these trending colours such as throws, scatter cushions and decor items.
Trends That Will Continue
We are hoping to see a continuation of importance being placed on sourcing sustainable materials. With environmental choices being central to many design decisions it is imperative that we continue to emphasise responsible manufacturing processes. The 2022 Vision
We expect to see more homeowners reclaiming their living spaces that were previously used for working spaces. In doing so, we expect to see bolder colour selections with a keen focus on creating visually intriguing focal points through striking art and lighting installations that represent nature and the outdoors. As Marianne Shillingford, Creative Director of Dulux, puts it “After so long trapped indoors, we have come to appreciate the power of nature to uplift and revitalise us. Colour-wise, we are throwing open the doors and windows and inviting every shade of nature in for tea”.
New Features at Valcucine
In line with the trends we are experiencing for the upcoming year, we have introduced a few new finishes to our collection of choices. We have added beautiful natural granites in Sea Green, Olive Green and Bahamas Blue. We have also extended our glass colour selection to compliment these finishes. These glass options work hand in hand with our newly launched Virtum Mimesis which aims to be a sustainable alternative to marble by being a high-resolution marble finish that is printed on the back of the glass.
